General OOC Permissions
- Cross-canon, FFXIV NPCs, and other FFXIV OCs are more than welcome! For the most part, I will assume all interaction is gen, though he can definitely be flirty/touchy-feely. As the WoL, I'm open to shipping with him, but outside of that he's pretty smitten with a cranky healer so nobody else has a chance.
- I generally don't have any problem with exploring dark themes in threads, but please tag content appropriately.
- Tagging into older stuff is fine! You can see W'lamber's thread tracker for older memes I've hit up.
- I try to backtag for a reasonable period of time, but I usually end up letting spontaneus meme threads go in favor of planned PSL stuff. Feel free to prod at me for a tag if I've dropped a thread you want to continue.
- PM me if you want to plot a PSL!

Character Information

Raised in a happy home where he wanted for neither affection nor basic necessities, W'lamber nonetheless yearns for some greater purpose for his life -- a desire that eventually drives him to seek his fortune in Eorzea.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Hrothgar would stand out anywhere for their stature alone, but W'lamber seems to call attention to himself easily beyond that, often dressed in brilliant colors and with a voice that reverberates across the room even with little effort on his part. His slighty accented Eorzean and odd manner of dress clearly mark him out as hailing from foreign parts. He carries himself with a surprising amount of confidence and grace -- it's unlikely one would ever find him bumping into them by accident, as he seems well-accustomed to navigating himself around obstacles (even when those obstacles are shorter people). Despite his easygoing, boisterous demeanor, he's usually watchful and alert, ready to react at the first sign of any trouble.

PERSONALITY
W'lamber is a rowdy, good-natured Hrothgar who hasn't entirely grown out of his extended boyhood. He wears his heart on his sleeve to a fault and is terribly earnest, but that boisterous exterior belies a deft hand with blade and a strong drive to protect others. Having often been the largest person in the room, he's not been easy to physically push around, but he's used to making room for others. Though he's not the type who usually starts them, W'lamber likes a good fight, in the sort of way someone who had a comfortable enough life to not have to depend on it likes fighting -- he's had the chance to develop his skills and test his mettle, but actually cutting others down isn't something he's ever likely to enjoy for its own sake.

Raised with seven older siblings in Radz-at-Han, where his adoptive family fled to in order to escape the Garlean invasion that razed their home, W'lamber was spoiled and surrounded by love since he was very young, and has never known what it's like to live without. Having long established their roots in Thavnair, his family's been more than content to leave their homeland -- and a life of strife and conflict-- behind them.

Though they may wish otherwise, W'lamber's acquired some romantic notions of adventure and travel and left home to see all the sights he's only heard about from the adventurers passing through. Unfortunately, he's terrible with directions and even worse with common sense. Accidentally having spent away whatever small fortune's worth of coin he had on arriving in Eorzea, he's been scraping by taking odd jobs as an adventurer while writing optimistic letters boasting of his travels to his family back home so they don't worry about him.

>> AS A WOL
-- Nobody knows how or why W'lamber, of all people, is the Warrior of Light.
-- Y'shtola reminds him of his older sisters and is therefore rightfully terrifying.
-- He writes letters home where he goes out of his way to avoid mentioning anything about being the Warrior of Light, i.e. "I met some interesting people" after nearly getting his head clipped off by an golem and being ominous'd-at by an Ascian ; "Today was really warm" whilst nursing burn wounds from Ifrit; "I don't think I like the snow" after escaping to Ishgard etc.
-- Career track as the WoL starts in Ul'Dah, after he cuts down Voidsent harassing Lady Lilira, and it goes from there.'

>> AS A SCION:
-- More by luck than design, he stumbles into the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and becomes one of the many ordinary 'venturers who've hitched their cause to their rising star. He joins them early, while they're still at the Waking Sands, and is one of those lucky to survive the bloodbath by virtue of being away at the time.
-- Y'shtola is still rightfully terrifying.

BACKGROUND NOTES
- His family is a group of Sunseekers who fled from their former lands to escape the approaching Garlean army. Along the way, they happened to pick up a Hrothgar orphan too young to remember his own name.
- The Seekers settled in Radz-at-Han, but their nunh takes a grievous wound along the way and remains in poor health, passing when W'lamber is still quite a young boy. He and his siblings promise their mother that they (and their descendants) would never need to raise a weapon again, as fighting has never brought them anything but pain. They give up their weapons and become tradesfolk, some of them eventually marrying locals to form a general family commune.

- Father: W'rukoh
- Mother: W'zala
- Sister 1 (W'raya): Marauder -> Botanist (Elezen husband)
- Sister 2 (W'tozha): Conjurer -> Miner/Goldsmith (Miqo'te wife) - 2 kids, adopted
- Brother 3 (W'zuno): Lancer -> Fisher/Culinarian (Hyur husband) - 1 kid
- Sibling 4 (W'mhev): Rogue -> Corsair??? Treasure Hunter??? (aka Gunbreaker) (married to the sea, baby--)
- Sister 5 (W'naat): Archer -> Carpenter (Miqo'te husband) - 3 kids
- Sister 6 (W'rakhi): Pugilist -> Weaver/Leatherworker (Roegadyn wife) - 2 kids, adopted
- Sister 7 (W'garu): Gladiator -> Armorer/Blacksmith (Au Ra husband) - 1 kid

- W’lamber was undoubtedly THE BABY and alternately bullied and doted upon by all his siblings, even when he grew big enough to lift like five of them at a time.
- Probably unsurprisingly, not all of them stuck by their promise. The sister who took up botany remains a deft hand with an axe, the brother who spearfishes still has cool dragoon moves etc. There's a tacit agreement to not talk about it, and they all teach W'lamber a little bit about combat as he grows up.
- Growing up, W'lamber hears a lot of stories about Eorzea and adventurers and the homeland etc from his family, and develops an interest in going someday etc.
- W'lamber arrives in Eorzea after the Calamity, via Vesper Bay in Thanalan, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.
- Having failed to be warned about the predatory merchants of Ul'dah, he loses all his money within five days of arrival and ends up becoming an adventurer as a means of making ends meet.

OTHER MISC. LIFE TIDBITS
-- Though he doesn't have an attention span or interest for books, he's literate
-- Between all of his siblings, there's one for every combat and crafter job, so he was always getting his stuff repaired etc etc.
-- HE HAS NIECES AND NEPHEWS. THEY'RE VERY CUTE. BIG EXTENDED FAMILY OF CUTE STUBBY TAILED MIQO and adoptees. They use him like a jungle gym, it's very wholesome. The miss their uncle. :C
-- Good with swords. Flavor-wise, he's essentially a generic Eastern-style swordsman for all intents and purposes; his IC weapons vary between the Crystarium Blade, Ghost Barque Sword, and Odenta-Kai (DRK), no DRK soulstone to speak of, it's just that if you're a big Hrothgar you need a big sword sometimes????? Gosh.
-- Big softy tbh.
-- Will flex on demand.
-- No volume control.
-- birth name was probably Aleksandar or something easy for a three-year-old to mispronounce.
